Opportunities From: Food On The Move

Community Food and Resource Festivals are all about community. We’re here to serve individuals and families in our community by providing 30-pound bags of fresh produce, a hot meal, and access to essential resources—all in one place. These events are more than just food; they’re about creating connections, offering support, and empowering our neighbors with tools for healthier, brighter futures. Come for the food, stay for the community. Together, we’re transforming lives and building a stronger tomorrow.

There are 3 volunteer shifts - Set up, Event Operations, and Tear down.

SET UP - Assembling tents, setting out tables and chairs, getting the produce line set and organized, setting up the check-in station, and assisting with any additional donations 

EVENT OPERATIONS - Distributing produce, restocking produce, breaking down boxes, assisting guests through the event, checking in guests, and distributing additional donations

TEAR DOWN - Gathering remaining produce for upcoming festivals, taking down tents, putting away tables and chairs, packing up the check- in station, loading recyclables, and any additional clean up needed to close the event

Food on the Move and HOPE Testing are partnered together to tackle food insecurity with weekly food boxes. These boxes are thoughtfully curated with items that don’t require refrigeration or utensils, ensuring accessibility to everyone.

Additionally, Curbside bagging or Pop-Up event bagging will take place. 

Volunteers should be prepared to set up, sort food, prep produce, package, load, and tear down.

This will take place at the FOOD HUB directly EAST of the TCC NE Campus. 3829 E Apache St

Today we will be putting together food boxes for our partners at Girl Scouts. We will be assembling 100 boxes. 1 for each family attending the annual family event!

Volunteers should be prepared to set up, sort food, prep produce, package, load, and tear down.
